All the Lies That Are My Life

Illustrated by Kent Bash
1980

A semi-autobiographical novella, and a masterpiece of complexity in plot, character and theme. The high-water mark (so far) for Ellison in his non-fantasy mode.

This edition includes illustrations of major events and characters, and a series of commentaries/rebuttals by several of Ellison's prominent writer friends.

The story alone can be found in the collection Shatterday.
