Demon with a Glass Hand

Illustrated by Marshall Rogers
1986

Ellison scripted two episodes of the old "Outer Limits" television show. One, "Soldier," can be found both in story and teleplay form in From the Land of Fear. The other, "Demon With a Glass Hand," is widely considered the TV series' high point.

It's a futuristic turn on "The Fugitive," with Ellison's trademark psychological tension and the closest he comes to a trademark villain (the Kyben, glimpsed more fully in Night and the Enemy). The version presented here includes scenes that never made it to the tube. Marshall Rogers' illustrations are gorgeous.
