Harlan Ellison's Dream Corridor Volume One

Illustrated by many
1996

Ellison's short fiction again gets graphic adaptation, this time in a series of six comic books published by Dark Horse in 1995 and collected here the following year (minus John Byrne’s four-part adaptation of “I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream,” which Ellison disliked).

The variety of artists and styles is truly dazzling; the results, as usual, are mixed. The Diana Schutz/Teddy Kristiansen adaptation of "Knox" is haunting and effective; Eric White's outrageous illustrations for the original text of HE's "How's the Night Life on Cissalda?" perfectly capture the story's hilarity.

The "Dream Corridor" comic series, unfortunately, lasted little more than a year, and it would be a full decade before remaining material was collected in Harlan Ellison's Dream Corridor Volume 2.

A signed hardcover edition, limited to 750 copies, was published concurrent with the trade paper edition.
