Phoenix Without Ashes

Illustrated by Alan Robinson
2011

Ellison's famous pilot script for the infamous 1970s television series The Starlost gets the graphic novel treatment, to outstanding effect.

The four installments collected in this volume naturally compress the narrative and character development, but this is more than surpassed by the outstanding art of Alan Robinson, which gives the universe of the Ark the depth and dimension that the series never even hinted at.

The limited-edition, signed first edition includes a bonus: the complete text of Ed Bryant's 1975 novel adapted from Ellison's original teleplay, including HE's own introduction retelling of the sordid Starlost saga.
