Packaged as an Ace "double" with Ellison's short novel The Man with Nine Lives.
It's early Ellison -- penny-a-word pulp material, long on macho angst and short on narrative or character depth. But the themes that would form the basis of so much of his later work -- alienation, violence and justice -- are already apparent.
Four of the stories were later included in From the Land of Fear, and Run for the Stars was much later published as a novelette, again in the paperback "double" format.
